When The Cats We Love Have Kidney Disease

If your cat doesn’t have the disease, which I hope very much is the case, bookmark the page just in case you or anyone you know needs the information at a later date.
I found the above site when I was researching into the product Azodyl that Dr Andrew Jones of Veterinary Secrets Revealed recommends in the treatment of Kidney Disease. Watch his informative video to see which foods and supplements to give to a cat with kidney disease. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vGTvQHcDiLI&feature=related
There seems to be a great deal that can be done to slow down the progress of the disease. So that given the proper care, a cat can live for months or possibly even years with partially functioning Kidneys.
Caring for our beloved Cats’ Kidneys
As far as looking after the cats we love kidneys’ on a daily basis, as a preventative measure I know that dried food is best avoided. Cats need a moist diet, for in the wild they eat predominantly birds and mice not dried carbohydrates. So feeding them good quality moist food, making your own, or giving them raw food are better options and a nearer match to their natural diet.
Some of my cats love the dried food and so I have to resist giving them much of what I know to be less than good for them.
